Nursing Philosophy
At Hardy Elementary, we recognize the profound impact of health and wellness on a student's educational journey. Our Nursing & Wellness Department is committed to fostering a culture of well-being and support. We embrace Trauma Informed Care, Mindfulness, Restorative Practices, and evidence-based research to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of our school community.
Hardy’s Health Office
We have a dedicated team to address the health needs of our students. Our Registered Nurse (RN), Amy Ayon, and Health Tech, Kristen Sturrock, are here to provide essential care and support.
Our health office plays a pivotal role in promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our students. They provide health assessments, health education, primary care, emergency care, crisis management, referrals, and communicable disease control. They also oversee mandated health screenings and train unlicensed staff to provide essential health care.
Health Technicians (HT) work under the direct supervision of credentialed school nurses and are trained in First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration, and specialized procedures as needed. There is ongoing communication between our health office staff to ensure comprehensive care for your child. If the HT/SEHT has any questions or needs clarification, an RN is always available to provide guidance.
