Pick-up & Drop-off Procedures

ARRIVAL      

  • Gate will be open at 7:25a
  • For security reasons, families will not be permitted on campus to walk their children to their classrooms or pick them up at their classrooms at the end of the day. Parents are permitted to wait with their child outside the gate.
  • Our school parking lot is for staff only
  • Parking in the neighborhood is permitted by the city
  • Be patient and kind, the morning and afternoon pick-up will be busy- please allow time for this and drive safely. 

DISMISSAL      

  • Students will be dismissed at 2:10p (11:55a on Wednesdays) from the gate.
  • The teacher will work with their student to identify their parents and the student will walk to their family.
  • Please go to the front office if your student needs to leave before dismissal times
  • Siblings CAN drop off and pick up siblings. We ask that the older sibling drop off their younger sibling first and then proceed to their class through the campus. After school, they will wait with the younger sibling. 

Dos:

  • Plan ahead and be prepared for potential wait times.
  • Keep your child’s name card in the windshield to facilitate a smoother process.
  • Follow instructions provided by Mr. Jerry and the school staff.
  • Review and share the traffic flow maps with other family members.
  • Consider carpooling to reduce the number of vehicles in the pickup/drop-off area.
  • Move your car up to facilitate the flow of traffic on Montezuma. 
  • Use designated crosswalks marked with yellow paint when walking to and from parked cars.
  • Observe "NO PARKING" areas marked by red-painted curbs and posted signs.

Don'ts:

  • Do not let your child in or out on Montezuma or in the red zones.
  • Avoid crossing between cars.
  • Don't drive up exit
  • Do not park in areas marked with red-painted curbs, as it's prohibited by law.
  • Refrain from arriving significantly in advance of dismissal, as this contributes to traffic congestion and hinders emergency vehicle access.
  • Ensure your car is not left unattended in the drop-off or pickup area.
